‘Mountains maintain an air of thriller and intrigue.’ 

So says Arpan Das, whose incredible photographs of mountains seize the essence of their thriller in spellbinding manner. 

Taken just about everywhere from the Canadian Rockies to the Swiss Alps, these shots are proving a hit on Instagram, earning Das virtually 40,000 followers to date. The Indian photographer, who is an astrophysicist and facts scientist by trade, reveals his desire in mountain images started when he went on a mountaineering excursion in the Italian Dolomites. ‘It was throughout that experience that I had an epiphany – I realized immediately that landscape photography was the path I desired to pursue passionately,’ he tells MailOnline Journey. And though his forte is mountains, he shows good aptitude in photographing a extensive wide range of landscapes, from gushing waterfalls to towering rock formations.

Das, who is centered in Lausanne, Switzerland, reveals he goes to wonderful lengths to nail the excellent shot, starting with thoroughly researching possible destinations using resources these kinds of as Google Earth.
